French Carbon Labeling Could Have Trade Implications
The French Ministry for Ecology and Sustainable Development launched a call for applications addressing companies to take part in a national experiment on the environmental labelling of consumer products. Pursuant to Article 228 of the Grenelle II Law, this voluntary environmental labelling scheme will be “tested” from 1 July 2011 to 1 July 2012 in the form of a one-year pilot labelling project. Attachment that evaluation, the environmental labelling scheme may become compulsory, applying by category of products, as needed.

Guide to greener electronics by Greenpeace. (Ver. 16)
The latest edition of the Greenpeace Guide to Greener Electronics exposes the widening gap between companies that make good on their promises to clean up, and those that don't. While some of the top electronics manufacturers are failing to keep their environmental commitments, others are innovating and making significant gains in phasing out toxic chemicals, increasing energy efficiency, and making it easier for consumers to recycle old products.
For top two companies, Nokia and Sony Ericsson, earned their position in part by producing products without most of he substances considered hazardous: PVC and brominated flame retardants (BFRs), antimony, beryllium, and phthlates.
Electronics companies and their ranks in this Guide as following,
1 – Nokia (7.5/10)
2 – Sony Ericsson (6.9/10)

> Benzo(a)pyrene
> Benzo(b)fluoranthene
