SONY updated their ‘SS-00259’ and the major revisions as following,
A) Add below new controlled substances,
-Tris(2-chloroethyl) phosphate (TCEP)
-Hexabromocyclododecane (HBCDD)
-Diisobutyl phthalate
-Diarsenic trioxide, Diarsenic pentaoxide
-Boric acid, specific sodium borates
B) Cadmium and cadmium compounds,
-Optical glasses which were classified as Level 2 have been changed to Level 1, considering updates of EU laws and regulations.
C) Lead and lead compounds,
-Two exemptions are newly classified into Level 1, considering updates of EU laws and regulations.
D) Mercury and mercury compounds,
-One exemption is newly classified into Level 1 in order for its deliveries to be banned on.
E) Tris(2-chloroethyl) phosphate (TCEP),
-This substance is newly classified into Level 2, considering updates of EU laws and regulations such as REACH. The effective date of the ban on the delivery is set to July 1, 2014.
F) Hexabromocyclododecane (HBCDD),
- This substance is newly classified into Level 2, considering updates of EU laws and regulations such as REACH. The effective date of the ban on the delivery is set to Jan. 1, 2015.
G) Dibutyltin (DBT) compounds,
-The effective date of the ban on the delivery is changed to July 1, 2014..
H) Specific azo compounds
- ‘More than 30 ppm of the specific azo compounds in the textiles and leathers’ has been classified as Level 1.
I) Formaldehydes,
-The description has been revised.
J) Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and PVC blends,
- The description has been revised.
K) Phthalates,
-Some phthalates are newly classified into Level 2 and added as Level 3, considering updates of EU laws and regulations such as REACH. The effective date of the ban on the delivery is set to July 1, 2014.
L) Specific benzotriazoles,
- Lenses and frames of eye glasses have been added to the applications.
M) Cobalt chloride,
-The cobalt chloride used for ‘humidity indicators’ has been changed from Level 2 to Level 1.
N) Diarsenic trioxide, Diarsenic pentaoxide,
-The substances are newly classified into Level 2, considering updates of EU laws and regulations such as REACH. The effective date of the ban on the delivery is set to July 1, 2014.
O) Boric acid, specific sodium borates,
-The substances are newly classified as Level 3, considering the trend of EU laws and regulations such as REACH.
