歐盟於2008年3月公告多項環保指令更新，包括：RoHS、WEEE、EuP、新電池指令，更新內容簡述如下：

A) RoHS指令：配合新技術之發展，管制有害物質之最大許可濃度，並於每四年審查排除條款，以配合科技發展。

2008/35/EC, OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL, amending Directive 2002/95/EC on the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment as regards the implementing powers conferred on the Commission

B) WEEE指令：修訂附件II對廢電機電子設備材料及零組件之處理要求規定，包括評估手機印刷電路板及平面顯示器列為優先項目；制訂監控回收施行細則；因應新技術發展，將照明設備、鎢絲燈泡及光電產品（如太陽能版）納入附件IB。第2008/34/EC號指令規定，歐委會修訂附件前，必須諮詢業界意見。

2008/34/EC, OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL, amending Directive 2002/96/EC on waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE), as regards the implementing powers conferred on the Commission

C) EuP指令：制訂個別耗能產品之生態化設計標準規範，並包含多種環境考量面以作平衡，及制訂指導綱領協助中小企業落實。歐委會有權採取措施，制訂對個別耗能產品的環保設計規定。

2008/28/EC, OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL, amending Directive 2005/32/EC establishing a framework for the setting of ecodesign requirements for energy-using products, as well as Council Directive 92/42/EEC and Directives 96/57/EC and 2000/55/EC, as regards the implementing powers conferred on the Commission

D)新電池指令：修訂附件III之回收登記規範需調和一致，並於2009年9月26日前落實附件II所標示之規範及標示豁免規定。根據第2008/12/EC號指令，歐委會亦可就歐盟電池生產商和進口商的註冊提出附加規定。
